Speed Reader-X is designed to be easy to use and to provide fast results.

To begin, simply install and click on Lesson 1. Everything is explained on the screen. The CD even includes a video that demonstrates how the software works. No tedious or confusing manuals, it is all on video.

After you select a lesson from the main menu, you will be shown an instructional video which explains the concept you will practice during the practice part of the lesson. The screen size can also be adjusted for large or smaller monitors.

The integrated video and lesson material was chosen in order to give you the greatest benefits and the fastest results. There are no pointless eye exercises or time fillers. Watch the video, take a short warm-up exercise, then the practice lesson, then test your speed and see your improvement on the graph. That is all there is to it. We jump in and start learning immediately.

 

Every family member can create an account. Select either Adult or Child settings to load custom reading material suitable for the age and reading level of the user. There are ten lessons to choose from. Any lesson can be repeated at any time.

 

This is not just a reading program. It is a full training system.

The advanced training area provides additional learning methods to turn your mind into a lightning fast word recognition machine. This system is based on the original research conducted by the United States Air Force using a Tachioscope. It has been expanded and improved. The software gives you total control and allows you to customize your experience. The introduction video also explains how to use this section in order to gain the most from it.

The Practice Area lets you setup your own custom lessons. Create self paced exercises and set your speed along with other options and even pick your own text to practice on. Practice slower or faster than the structured lessons. Create your own learning experience if you desire. Everything is adjustable including the font, the text, the reading speed, highlighting mode, and you can select timed or open ended reading periods.

 

Each user can keep track of his or her own progress with a progress chart. There is a reading test at the end of each lesson which records your progress. You can easily see how fast your reading speed is increasing. You can also use the reading test feature to test yourself at any time without going through a lesson.
